After teasing their collaboration on social media over the last week, Anitta and the Weeknd finally shared their new single, “São Paulo,” on Wednesday (October 30), along with a frightening music video for the track just in time for Halloween. The two music superstars shared the single’s menacing white mask cover art in a joint Instagram post early Wednesday while announcing that the track would drop in four hours. Anitta commented on the post, “The water just broke,” going along with the pregnancy-theme of the previous track teasers. The pair later took to Instagram once again to share a clip from the body-horror maternity nightmare music video, which is directed by Freeka Tet, produced by Phantasm, and features menacing FX by Manny Lemus. Anitta and the Weeknd previously debuted “São Paulo” during his “One Night Only” concert in Brazil back in September, with the single set to be featured on the Weeknd’s upcoming Hurry Up Tomorrow album.
